The New Valhall Flag

Immagine
Valhall's new flag is not yet official. It has been adopted by the principality's fleet as its naval flag and, to some extent, by the army. It flies over the Althing Palace but has not yet been raised in the courtyard of the prince's palace, where the traditional flag continues to fly. The flag recalls the colors typical of Norway or Iceland on Earth, clearly referencing the Viking tradition that informs almost all of Valhall's lore.

Lunar Sidereal Marines

Immagine
Luna is the other biggest player in the Solar game. Although less mighty than Galileo, its soldiers are no less valiant and defiant. During the Belt War, Luna was much more concerned in space battles than land operations, but sustained heavy fights nothing less. The soldier in the image is a member of 22nd Space Operation Regiment, which fought during the siege of Luna by the Galileo forces. Other operations included the battle of Syracuse, when the XXIII regiment was send to relieve the regular army from the attack of the 3rd Galilean Imperial Army. They wear a Titanium alloy armor and could wear different colors. Usually the standard colors of the Lunar army, Grey or Tan, but sometimes could wear more bright colors like this green, or the light blue of the 7th Regiment of the Special Forces .

Lunar Combat Infantry

Immagine
The Lunar Combat Infantry is the special military force of the Lunar League. It occupies an intermediate position between the marines and the regular army. It is usually employed for targeted attacks, anti-terrorism or special operations. The combat suit is woven from carbon fibres and titanium inserts and uses an advanced visor with sight support and other visual aids (infrared, macrobinoculars, etc.) The rifle is a railgun, very fast, but with relative penetration power, the SL-ShadowspikeX90 model. Combat infantry soldiers are highly respected in the League, but it is difficult to find recruits due to the high mortality of the corps, which is often engaged in very risky missions.

Kael Kene

Immagine
Prince Kael is relatively young, only 30. Despite everything, he has already proven himself a capable commander, demonstrating his skills against nomadic pirates and raiders from the Thousand Nations. Less convinced than his father about his sister's marriage to the Prince of Pallas, he nevertheless understands the political reasons behind the military defeat. Kael is an excellent strategist and a brilliant tactician, but he lacks his father's patience and calmness. He tends to see the world in black and white. As Crown Prince of Vallhall, Kael commands the principality's fleet.

Halkon II Kene

Immagine
The Kene are an ancient and noble family with ties to the pre-space Earth nobility and still maintain important connections with the German-speaking areas (in the broadest sense of the word) of Earth and Mars. Halkon II succeeded his father, Viglaik III, who was killed in a duel of honor when Halkon was just nineteen. Halkon led the country through the war against Pallas and Ceres, which he likely would have won had it not been for the intervention of the Lunar League and the Galilean Empire. A few years ago, he was forced to abide by the peace treaty and marry his daughter to the young prince of Pallas. A stout man devoid of irony, he is cold and calculating, but much loved by his people. In fact, he has renounced many royal privileges in order to increase the people's welfare and military spending. His heir to the throne is Prince Kael, who more or less shares his father's ideology but who, however, would like to avenge the offense caused by defeat with a new war.

Huscarl Heavy Battle Armor

Immagine
The Huscarl, the heavy armor of the Valhall Kingdom's space infantry, is a technological marvel. Produced by Eisenkern Armaments, one of the largest corporations in the Asteroid Belt, it is both a space battle suit and heavy armor for mass combat inside asteroids. So efficient that the Valhall marines were renamed after the suit. Not only is it extremely durable (diamond polymers with titanium fibers), but it also features integrated targeting systems, a visor with optimized optical aids, and, most importantly, magnetic stabilizers that allow them to fight with their feet planted on almost any surface. Unlike many space units, the Huscarl are also trained in melee combat, which in their case, in keeping with an ancient national mythology, are energy axes, a weapon as simple as it is effective. The armament thus includes an Eisenkern-made Schwerpunkt MK-III magnetic rifle and the Heliosync Industries "Viking" energy axe, originally designed as a mining tool. The Housecar...

Meta-Humanity Mercury

Immagine
Humanity's evolution is not set in stone. Although humanity left its home on Earth only three hundred years ago, some humans began to show obvious signs of genetic mutation after only a few generations. The first confirmed cases date back to around the first century of the Nemesis Era, on Mars. Some children in areas of the planet that were not very terraformmeed showed a notable increase in their breathing capacity and resistance to cold. Then there were the first fire children. In some colonial areas of Mercury, in areas under corporate control and not under that of the Coalition, where living conditions were harsher, the first metahumans appeared. They called them the fire children, because they tolerated heat more efficiently than other children and also began to show signs of external mutation, such as increased rods in their eyes to increase twilight vision and white hair to increase heat dissipation. Djinns, or pejoratively Salamanders as they are sometimes called, have al...

Meta-Hunanity Jupiter System

Immagine
The birth of the fire children or the so-called indigo children (A pre-space term that indicated a non-scientific idea of development of consciousness and perception, which has been applied today to subjects with increased sensory capabilities) clearly demonstrated that there was room for genetic modifications in space. A very controversial experiment was conducted by the 4Med Group, a very advanced medical corporation with its headquarters on Ganymede. Some children born on Europa had shown a certain resistance to the cold and a better underwater breathing capacity than previous generations. Using very advanced gene editing tools, with the financial support of the Far Future Foundation and the Galileo Empire, the new generation was edited in order to develop gills and a skin color that favored the passage of ultraviolet rays. Thus the Kelp were produced. They are not very numerous in the Empire, not even on Callisto where however they are about 1% of the population of the Gran...

Ceres Marines

Immagine
As other space nations of the Solar System, Ceres, as other belt nations, must have a strong space forces. Its marines are, infact, the most important of its troops. Chosen between the most motivated and loyalty of principality's subjects, Marines are Ceres best soldiers. They wears a Titanium and Carbon armor (light but effective) and wields a FFR03 - Tempest, q very heavy rifle with magnetic recoil. Differently than other marine forces in the System, Ceres ones are, sometimes, called to be fighting force in gravity enviroments. Both as effective fighting forces and intimidatory presences.

Prince of Ceres - Xander III Alcantar

Immagine
Xander III is the youngest son of Victor I and ascended the throne when his older brother, Victor Alejandro, crowned Victor II was assassinated. The hand behind Victor II's assassination has never been identified, and not a few rumours, half-heartedly (talking about it too much and too loudly would attract the attention of the political police) say that Xander was behind his brother's death. What is certain is that Xander is a cold and calculating person. Capable, with a cold mind, of organising the disappearance and murder of members of the opposition and internal dissent. However, it would be wrong to believe that the Prince of Ceres is a sycophant and tyrant. His methods are brutal and ruthless, but his actions are dictated by the idea that without a strong personal grip, the principality would fall into ruin and be shaken by revolution and possibly civil war. If it was indeed he who organised the assassination of his brother, whose death, to be fair, he never regretted to...

Palladian Sailor

Immagine
Green and white are the colors of Pallas, and this sailor is dressed in a standard principality uniform of the Home Navy. The uniform is less durable and resistant than the army's one, but is still fabricated in crystal polimeres and carbon fiber.      In the picture, the sailor is wearing a standard uniform, with the colours green and white reversed from the infantry. The uniform, although conforming to solar system standards, harks back to the traditional costumes of the Pacific area, from which a fair proportion of the Pallas population originates

Palladian Navy Officer

Immagine
Pallas' navy is his pride. Although Pallas' fleet is certainly smaller than that of the Lunar League and the Empire of Galileo, it is certainly quite fierce. Most of the ships are small ships, suitable for running battles, often used against the equally small ships of the nomads and clans of the asteroid belt.   The supreme command of the navy is entrusted to the Navarch, a title equivalent to that of admiral in other navies. A fleet commodore is seen in this image. The uniform recalls that of the army, but the green and white are swapped. Most of the uniform is white, with green detailing. The cut is also more modern, not reminiscent of the uniforms of 20th century Earth. The materials remain very modern, crystal polymers and carbon fibres.

Albert II Nabanan - Prince of Pallas

Immagine
Albert II only recently ascended the throne. Son of Stig III Nabanan, he is very young, but no less determined than his predecessors to maintain the peace and neutrality of the Principality, which, in fact, has now lasted for more than a hundred years. Albert is only 25 years old, but is very determined. He is often underestimated by his peers, who often consider him inexperienced because of his young age. Albert is married to Princess Tiril of Valhall, a tangible sign of peace between the two states of the Belt. Despite a not too idyllic beginning, for Tiril the Pallasites were inferior beings, for her subjects she was a barbarian. If not love, at least mutual respect. However, the two have not yet succeeded in producing a child, so the succession is in jeopardy for the time being.   Albert convened the Regency Council, the equivalent of Pallas's parliament, and named as presumptive heir his younger half-brother Alexander (familiarly known as Aleki) who, however, is now onl...

Presuntive heir of Pallas: Alexander Nabanan

Immagine
Aleki, or Alexander, is the illegitimate son of the former prince of Pallas. Stig III, who had him with an unknown woman. His mother was estranged, although the reasons for this estrangement are very mysterious; the little one was brought to live with the royal family. When the little boy was brought to court, aged five, no one could have imagined that Crown Prince Albert would take a liking to him. Instead, the courtiers were shocked to discover that young Albert liked his little brother very much. When Stig III succumbed to illness, young Albert found himself becoming Prince of Pallas and had to decide what to do with Aleki. Although Albert liked having his brother around, it was decided that he would attend the military academy located in Australia's Australasia-Pacific Federation, where Pallas maintains a military base. Aleki is a very serious boy, not very keen on making friends and definitely more inclined to study than to physical activities. He seems to like the study of ...

Palladian Regular Infantry.

Immagine
Palladian Regular troopers are more an occupational force than a combat one. The space is vast, but it is not suited for ground combat. The regular trooper, so, is highly trained as counter insurgents and efficient crowd control force. However, as in the case of Hygiean wars, they proved to be a reliant fighting unit and performed admirably well. Their uniform is, as usual in Solar System, made of crystal polymeres, and the metal parts are of an alloy of titanium and palladium, assuring a great resistance and good lightness. They lack of a specialized visor, as other soldiers in the system has, but all in all, palladian uniform is a very good one.

Palladian soldier

Immagine
A regular Pallas soldier in offduty uniform. The Pallasite soldiers are more akin to a national guard than to a true army. This is due to the fact that the main army of Pallas are the Lowenwolf mercenaries. However the main Pallas Army, known as Royal State Army, is the principal defense of Pallas itself and most of the tribes.    They wear a Pantone Green with inserts of white and/or Ivory. Because the war in the space if very different than on the surface of the planets, usually when in normal G environment, they wear a hard kepi and bring a semiautomatic weapon.     As usual for the space nations of the solar systems the uniform is reminiscent of the XX century ones, although made ultra resistant materials

Regular Valhalla Infantry

Immagine
Valhalla's infantry is rarely used. Most of this small but fierce asteroid nation's army consists of space units and marines, fighting in the cold of space and raiding asteroid colonies. Valhalla soldiers wear a uniform made of titanium polymers and nano-carbon fibers. The service rifle is the “Mjolnir Mk III” from Valküre Salvage, which produces it under licence from Far Future. The very simple helmet, modelled on the other Belt states, incorporates a visor with aiming aid and visual aids (infrared, heat vision, AI aiming) and a powerful radio that allows communication even in sub-optimal situations. However, despite their military capabilities and equipment, regular soldiers are rarely deployed in pitched battles, but used as a counter-insurgency or occupation force.

Io Cossacks

Immagine
Io is the primary source of energy on Io, Galileo's moon. The powerful gravitational forces it experiences result in virtually infinite geothermal energy to be collected from its volcanoes. The access to such energy and heat also makes Io the primary industrial hub of the Jovian system. It is here that metals are fused for the construction of fleets or the expansion of habitats. The inhabitants of the moon are divided into two specific categories: the inhabitants of cities and industrial facilities, and the nomads. Originally, these two populations were also ethnically distinct, but they are no longer so. However, to identify them, the government of Galileo refers to the settled people as "Tajiks" and the nomads as "Tuareg," although there is no evidence that this ethnic classification is accurate. While the Tajiks are recruited into Galileo's armies according to regular army standards, the Tuaregs provide a contingent of their own called the "Cossack...

Magellan - Lunar main tank

Immagine
The Magellan is the standard tank of the Lunar League. Manufactured by General-Hatamotors (Pun absolutely intended), it is a relatively heavy vehicle for its class (Standard Tank Class), but carries armour and weapons superior to any Terran tank. Although it is equipped with highly sophisticated armament and equipment (only Galileo's tanks can compete), it requires a crew of only three men, thanks to the artificial intelligence interface that allows personnel training to be kept to a minimum. Weighing 65 tonnes and 10 metres long, it is armed with a 155 millilitre railgun. However, the real innovation of the Magellan is the integration of an energy shield into the traditional nano-ceramic armour. The real limitation of the Magellan is its extremely high cost, which forces the Lunar League to rely on lighter tanks and more evasive tactics in very large battles requiring numerous vehicles.

Typhon class - Imperial Tank

Immagine
The FFAD Typhon X-900 class tanks are the standard super-heavy tanks of the Galileo Empire army. They are produced in relatively small numbers, and their purpose is to provide support during city sieges or to forts and trenches. Weighing 180 tonnes and capable of firing up to 8 km on sight, they are the most powerful and fearsome tank in the Solar System. Nano-crystal armour and an electro-magnetic defence system make it impervious to almost any tank of lesser weight and infantry.

Admiral Amert Bernaut

Immagine
Galileo's empire is essentially a militocracy. At this time it is the army that dominates the political scene, but the fleet remains influential and powerful. The officers of the fleet wear a dark Teal uniform and carry an amber badge. As with army uniforms, for senior officers there is no standard packaging, the only obligations are the colour teal and the badge. The picture shows Admiral Bernaut on the deck of the ship Atlas, the flagship of the Home Fleet.

Empire Marshall Fabius Terril

Immagine
Fabius Terril is a war hero. Probably one of the most decorated soldiers, not only of Galileo, but of the entire solar system. Courageous and decisive, Terril is a man who never hesitates in the face of danger. In the course of the reduction wars, where he earned the title of Marshal, he demonstrated a profound tactical sense and remarkable strategic ability, even if at times, overshadowed by an exaggerated propensity to attack. Born on Callisto, but from a family of the great aristocracy of Europe, he carried on the military ideal of his lineage. Unfortunately for him, he was to be the last member of his bloodline, as his son, Alexander, was murdered in unclear circumstances when he was about 25 years old. He is, however, left with a daughter, who is the fiancée, and future wife, of Crown Prince Zabulon, who has a very close relationship with Fabius, to such an extent that it is rumoured that he is the prince's real father. Fabius Terril currently commands the Martian forces. He i...
