Kingdom of Valhall
Valhall was the home of the braves and warriors died during the Viking age. After Nemesis, a large group of refugees from North Europe(mostly), India and arabic countries founded a number of settlements in the belt.
The main one was Asgard, called this way to honor the Aesir's home, the seat of the northerner gods.
By waging war of conquest and political pressure, at some point, around 50 yrs after the belt war, Asgard become a relative power and formed the Valhall Kingdom.
Population: 250 Milions
Capital: Asgard
Ruler: King Halkon Kene
Currency: Valhall Crown
Form of Government: Valhall is governed by monarchical principles, tempered by a Diet elected by universal suffrage.
The ruler, called Jarl in the local language, has, however, broad discretionary powers, as in Ceres, although the state remains, essentially, a functioning constitutional monarchy.
Culture: Valhall was founded by immigrants of Germanic and Nordic origin, with Western Slavic (Polish?) elements.
Like the MUR or Al Amal on Mars, it is quite careful to preserve ancient Earthly traditions, which is often reflected in the slavish revival of cultural elements from pre-space antiquity, but which sometimes leads to the direct adoption of forms of racism or cultural chauvinism.
The most obvious, and colorful, form of this cultural revival is the adoption of Asatru, the ancient Nordic religion, as the state cult, which, however, is more of a cultural banner than anything else. Like other cultures in the solar system, religion is a secondary element. However, as in Al-Amal, it is very present and publicized.
The worst aspect of their culture is the belief to be an elected race, chosen by fate to be the future of the mankind.
The kingdom started a war against Ceres and Pallas, end in the end attracted the attention of Galileo and Luna, forcing it to fight a no-win war.
Valhall lost the war, but is still the one of main powers in the Belt.
The flag shows the Mjolnir, Thor's hammer, their principal divinity(although, as usual, religion is not truly a matter).
Blue and white represent the skies and the bright future of the elected race.
