Martian United Republic

 


North Europe was ravaged by waves and meteorites’ falls. Far Future Foundation offered its help. Many nations accepted. For unclear reasons, FFF decided to move toward Jupiter’s moons. A few states were established, Martian United Republic was one of those, and refused to accept the independence of the Jovian Republic. They waged a war against the separatists, but they were defeated, thanks also to technological ban by Far Future Foundation.
Martian United Republic, however, didn’t forget that blow, and when Far Future moved populations from Mars to Jovian Moons, the republic refused. So, still, many people of MUR are of European descent.

Culture: The MUR is the union of seven states. During the belt war the biggest of them (Aresgate, Syrtys and Cydonia) formed the first nucleus of MUR. In the following 75 years, up to the Reduction War, MUR strengthen itself, not only with conquest. but also ideologically.
The Republic, now formed by seven states, sees itself as the rightful ruler of the whole Mars. When other peoples leaved for Jupiter or subdue itself to the wishes of a not so transparent Far Future Foundation, MUR stayed strong and true, spurning compromises and agreements.

Sadly, the ancient anglo-saxon’s flaw of white supremacist, rooted here too. 
MUR is pretty much a racial republic of white Saxon people that took pride in their ancient heritage and cherished it, like Houxing and al-Amal, but in a distorted way.   
They recovered Saxon and German names along with classical ones, and saw themselves as the defender of an ancient culture.
More sadly, some slavic and hindi minorances, as long as a number of iranic descendants agree with them and contribute to their chauvinism.

Religion: Religion is a strange matter here. Officially MUR is a laical, semi-atheistic, state. Unofficially religion has a strong political grip, if not a true follow-up.

The main faith is the Martian Reformed Church, followed by a local version of Sunni Islam, then Hinduism and a, incredibly right-wing, variant of Zoroastrianism which is rapidly growing.

Crown Princess Maia

Princess Maia: Maia is the second born of Emperor Isaac, she is 30 years old. She was conceived with assistite procreation to ensure a second heir for the Empire. She is the Duchesse of Io, the most active moon around Jupiter and the source of the energy of the Empire extracted by geothermal activity of Io. She is very active and social woman, having different lovers (some male and some female as well) and she is a little scandalous for the conformist Galilean society. However she is a woman of the people and she is very loved by her subjects on Io, because she not only makes a lot of appearances on working places, but she leads a lot of foundations for the well beings of her people. She commands the Imperial Guard and his own regiment of Io's Hussars both with the grade of Colonel.

Pallas Marines

  The soldiers of Pallas fought much more in the space than on surfaces and their marines are known to have aided the lowenwolf mercenaries in many operations. Moreover, if Pallas in not in open war, they travel on ships and cargoes to ensure security and defense against pirates and rogue clans. The armor, called star-metal suit, is a titanium-ceramic armor is insulated by vacuum of space and integrated with many aids for the soldier, as guided aim, thermoscanner and radar. The marines are not a separate corp from the army, but soldiers of Royal State Army equipped with star-metal suits. The last major battle is been at Shteins during the Valhalla War and their last engagement is been at Eros against the Void Octopus pirates fleet
