People Republic of Huoxing

 


China, when Nemesis was spotted, was probably the most powerful, rich and advanced state in the world. After the Iind pacific war and the Third American Civil War, Peking was left in charge of the world. A role, probably, China never wanted.

When Nemesis was so near to spark fear and terror, China communist government decided to save what was salvable and, thanks to advaced predictions decide to deport in space the bulk of PCC cadres and the han population. The other nationalities was deemed safe and left on Earth.
They were quite right, but not completely. Nemesis disintegrated in Earth’s orbit, but big chunks of rock fell on the planet. Gigantic tides, ice melting and enormous clouds of dust transform Earth in hell, at least for some years.
In this situation, the colonial project lost hopes to save terrestrial china too, and like others extraterrestrial enterprises focused on building was they have.

Culture: For a terrestrial Chinese person on a visit to Houxing, it would not be difficult to recognize the element of his own civilization. 
Chinese culture is everywhere, and emphasized. At first it seems to visit the XXI century. But it is only a superficial view. Like Galileo and Luna, Houxing is a very advanced place with technologies years ahead of terran ones. It is not only this gap to catch attention. Chinese names and langage is unrecognizable and resemble Earth counterparts only in grammar and phonology. Vocabulary is practically completely different.

Houxing society is very ordained, remembering the Lunar one. Military and Police are everywhere to ensure protection and control. The army and the fleet are highly recognized and praised , and so is the technical and academic compart of the society. This, however, leaves the country open to cultural influences from outside. The older generations are much more connected with Galileo, despite, or perhaps thanks, to the wars they fought against each other. The youngsters are much more akin with Lunar League or Pallas and their mundane life and shows. Lunar anime and tv shows are  monopolizing the marketplace at an alarming rate.

Crown Princess Maia

Princess Maia: Maia is the second born of Emperor Isaac, she is 30 years old. She was conceived with assistite procreation to ensure a second heir for the Empire. She is the Duchesse of Io, the most active moon around Jupiter and the source of the energy of the Empire extracted by geothermal activity of Io. Pallas Marines

  The soldiers of Pallas fought much more in the space than on surfaces and their marines are known to have aided the lowenwolf mercenaries in many operations. Moreover, if Pallas in not in open war, they travel on ships and cargoes to ensure security and defense against pirates and rogue clans. The armor, called star-metal suit, is a titanium-ceramic armor is insulated by vacuum of space and integrated with many aids for the soldier, as guided aim, thermoscanner and radar. The marines are not a separate corp from the army, but soldiers of Royal State Army equipped with star-metal suits. The last major battle is been at Shteins during the Valhalla War and their last engagement is been at Eros against the Void Octopus pirates fleet
