Thousand Nations Confederation

The Thousand Nations is one of the strangest and most curious states in the Solar System, and one of those to which the term “nomadic”, fits best.

Founded by the UN as a refuge for me native minorities of North America, it remained for years under the control of the Martian Union, but when Jupiter gained independence, the Florian colonies also became free.

Population: 55.4 million inhabitants

Capital: Hastsehogan

Ruler: First Speaker Galilahi Benally

Currency: Martian Dinar

Form of Government: The Thousand Nations are a republic, led by a Premier, called the First Speaker, who is accountable to a bicameral parliament. One chamber is elected by universal suffrage and the other is appointed by the tribes.

Culture: The Thousand Nations were a fusion of native peoples of North America saved by a consortium of petrochemical industries which, thanks to money from native casinos, financed the transport of almost all the populations of the West and some of the East, giving rise to a rich culture deeply attached to its earthly memories.

The culture is more or less significantly imbued with Native American traditions, both spiritual and cultural, albeit mixed in a rather unrecognizable way. Although traditions such as the asteroid regatta and a strong sacred focus on medicine are undoubtedly reminiscent of Earth's tribal traditions, Asteroid Flora is home to the Confederacy's capital, Hastsehogan. The thousand nations of Asteroid Flora fit the term "nomads," which is sometimes used to describe the Belt states. Indeed, a large portion of the population works as asteroid hunters, often in conflict with the large lunar mining corporations (the Jovian ones have more than enough ice), which often refuse to recognize the hunters as entities and accuse them of piracy.
